It’s partly training. She used to try getting at it by digging (bad for the floors) or moving the furniture (bad for the tv on the tv stand).

My dog hasn’t figured it out yet that he doesn’t fit under the couch. Ball goes under and he is instantly trying to cram 45lbs of energetic puppy into a 3 inch gap.
